GEOLOGY & SOILS

The BIB property is located within the Western Uplands Region or Vaca Plateau and is abutted by of the Maya Mountain Region to the east of the property on the opposite side of the Macal River. The Western Uplands denotes the region characterized by Cretaceous limestone. The BIB area landscape is an undulating plain comprised of low to high karst formations. The two prevalent rock formations are Paleozoic (Granite) rocks of the Maya Mountains and Cretaceous limestone. The BIB property is primarily composed of limestone in the higher areas and limestone overlain by granite near the river with some slate and river stone deposits.

Observations made at the BIB property and the area indicates granite bedrock of late Pennsylvanian to mid-Permian origin, which is part of the Santa Rosa Formation. Layered on top of the Granite bedrock are sedimentary clay, sandstone and limestone deposits.

Meta-sedimentary rocks of the Santa Rosa Group (early Pennsylvanian to mid-Permian) comprise more than 75% of the area underlying the Maya Mountains. Granite intrusions which comprise the remaining 25% of the area protrude on to BIB property as the property descends toward the Macal River.
