Immigration Details

Passengers coming to Belize on cruise ships do not require passports; in all other cases they are required. Passports must be valid up to the day of departure. Driver’s licenses and birth certificates are not considered travel documents. Visas are valid till 30 days from date of entry. Extensions are granted upon request and the following charges apply: 1. Up to 6 months - USD $25 2. After 6 months- USD $50 per month.

Nationals of the following countries do not require visas to enter Belize: European Union countries, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, USA, Venezuela and CARICOM member states.

Entry visas should be obtained outside of Belize. For the nearest place to obtain a visa please visit: Belize Consuls and Embassies. In cases where a visa has not been secured, one will be issued upon arrival at entry points. This will be facilitated only where prior approval has been granted by Immigration.
